Political and economic-------------------

The illegal military regime has condemned another 7 pro-democracy activists to death, supposedly for their participation in an urban guerrilla group that carried out assassinations of junta personnel, who in turn participated in the abduction and killing in prison of activists. It isn’t known whether these 7 young men were actually connected to any such activity or were just swept up in a random abduction following the assassinations. Also not known is whether they are already dead. (Khit Thit Media)
An August 31 internal attack in a Wetlet township PDF is the basis of a punitive action by a township-wide PDF coalition. Thirty-nine united PDFs under National Unity Government authority are prosecuting a local commander for turning on his own soldiers, killing 2, wounding 5, and arresting 6. The root of the conflict isn’t made clear, but the PDF coalition considers it an arbitrary and illegal action, and will prosecute the commander in question, in the interest of maintaining rule of law among Revolutionary forces.
