Large PDF battle today in Salingyi, Sagaing Region; Resistance shuts down fake election preparations.

The Karen army intercepted and seized 4 vehicles carrying food and ammunition to junta troops in southern Dooplaya District of Kawthoolei (Kyainseikgyi township on Burmese maps). The supplies were disguised in civilian vehicles and were captured on the way from Thanbuzayat in Mon State toward Xrotherpler (Payathonsu on Burmese maps) in Win Ye township on Jan. 14. Karen forces drone-bombed junta troops camped in 2 villages of Ler Doh township, Kler Lwi Htoo District of Kawthoolei (Kyaukgyi township on Burmese maps). Two junta troops were killed by the bombs in Naung Kone village, while casualties in Lay Wine Ji aren’t known. This was a pre-emptive attack on troops and Pyu Saw Htee terrorists who were preparing to invade surrounding communities in a search for PDF fighters. (Mizzima)
Three more junta soldiers ran away from their unit in Yephyu township of Beit-Tavoy District of Kawthoolei (Tanintharyi Region on Burmese maps). They have been gone since Jan. 12 and other troops are still searching for them. It is not reported whether they took their weapons. (Tanintharyi Times)
People’s Defense Forces (PDFs)-----------------
An intense battle has been taking place today between PDFs and junta/Pyu Saw Htee terrorists in Salingyi township of Sagaing Region. Shooting began in the morning. By the afternoon about 20 junta troops and a PDF soldier had been killed, and a Russian-supplied Mi-35 helicopter gunship showed up and fired on Sahton village. Then the troops burned several villages. About 30,000 residents are fleeing the villages around Letpandaung Mountain. (Khit Thit Media)
Today a PDF bombed troops who were trying to leave the Pyu Saw Htee terrorist base at Bantbwe in Yinmapin township of Sagaing Region. Three of them were killed. (People's Spring)
A PDF in Paungde township of Bago Region blew up a junta convoy this morning, killing 4 troops and wounding others. The survivors then began shooting mortars and guns and burned nearby huts. (Myaelatt Athan)
Twelve junta troops were riding on 6 motorcycles in Natmauk township of Magway Region yesterday when they were blown up by PDF roadside bombs, which killed 9 of the 12 troops.
A PDF fired locally-manufactured mortars into a camp of 30 junta troops last night in Wetlet township of Sagaing Region, killing 3 of them instantly; others were wounded.
PDFs in Sagaing township fired on junta/Pyu Saw Htee terrorists in Jeipon village on Jan. 13, killing 8 of them and wounding 10. (People's Spring) The same day, a PDF drone-bombed a junta checkpoint in Myaing township where troops were extorting money from travelers, killing 3 soldiers and wounding 4. Junta troops invaded Kopin village in Palay township of Sagaing Region yesterday and burned it. A local PDF counter-attacked and killed 2 junta troops and injured others.
Urban warfare------------------
In Mandalay, an urban PDF warned all junta administrators to resign within 15 days. That deadline has passed, so the PDF assassinated one of them in Maha Aung Myay township yesterday, and says it will continue those who do not resign. (People's Spring)
Political and economic-------------------
The National Unity Government Ministry of Home Affairs announced that 27 junta-collaborationist government staff have crossed over to the Civil Disobedience Movement in northern Sagaing Region’s Ayadaw and Banmauk townships. These are education, health, and agriculture staff. (People's Spring)

A local junta administrator was shot dead in Yangon yesterday while collecting data on citizens for the junta’s fake election. (People's Spring)
PDF forces arrested 4 junta administrators who were gathering data on citizens for the fake election yesterday in Myaung township of Sagaing Region. They will be prosecuted under the National Unity Government’s anti-terrorism law. Among those arrested is the wife of the junta’s head of administration in Myaung township. (Khit Thit Media)
In Yangon, an urban PDF warned that it will target junta census-takers preparing for the illegal election.
