Burma coup resistance notes November 21, 2022
Kachin & Karen forces capture junta positions and provoke full scale air strikes; junta troops do what they do best, attack civilian communities.

The Karen army and allied PDFs stormed a junta police barracks this morning at Taungkalay in Kyaikmaraw township in Dooplaya District of Kawthoolei (Mon State on Burmese maps). Junta forces suffered serious damage, and the junta bombed the area with 2 jets, helicopter gunships, and 2 artillery-mounted armored cars. Two civilians have been killed and 7 wounded. Later, a junta reinforcement column was sent toward Taungkalay. (Mizzima)
Likewise National Unity Government military forces seized a junta police barracks in Nantnan, Hohmalin township, Sagaing Region yesterday and captured a number of weapons and radios. In Chin State, the junta-appointed governor traveled to Hpalam, Matupi, and Paletwa towns recently, and had to go by helicopter because Chin forces control the roads and everything but the towns themselves. A staff member pointed out that junta administration members can’t all travel by helicopter, which makes the work of administration unfeasible. (Mizzima) On the other hand, controlling only the cores of towns, there isn’t much junta administrative work to do.
Meanwhile, the battle for Thibwal camp continued for a 6th day yesterday after junta reinforcements prevented a total loss to Chin forces a day earlier. Chin snipers picked off 2 of the new reinforcements yesterday. Chin-supplied drone photos show extensive damage from drone-bombing inside the camp, such as roofs blown open. (Khit Thit Media)

Troops shot randomly at young people riding motorcycles yesterday in Launglone township, Beit-Tavoy District of Kawthoolei (Tanintharyi Region on Burmese maps). They shot 2 young guys off one motorcycle, killing one and abducting the other. Then they shot a 14-year-old boy driving his 12-year-old sister, killing him and wounding her. (People's Spring)
