Burma coup resistance notes October 26, 2022
Karen army wailing on junta forces on several fronts; defensive stance of troops appears to anticipate more attacks in towns.
The Karen army has seized another junta camp. Last night Karen forces stormed the Kwilondaing camp south of Azin in Dooplaya District, Kawthoolei (Karen nation). About 30 enemy troops surrendered, along with all their weapons; thus far there has been no report of shooting or casualties, it may be a total capitulation. The Karen army had surrounded the camp and cut off its supplies, to which the camp commander responded by threatening to destroy the surrounding villages. To prevent this, the Karen cleared out the camp. As usual after suffering defeat on the ground, the junta sent jets to bomb the site this morning, and landed troops by helicopter at the area town of Azin. (Khit Thit Media, People’s Spring)
More in the Ethnic regions-------------------
In Kachin State, dozens of the victims of the junta’s Oct. 23 jet bombing in Hpakant township were buried on-site in a mass cemetery on the edge of the jungle yesterday, unable to be taken home due to the junta’s blocking of the roads to prevent the wounded getting medical treatment.
