Politics-------------------
Information published today corrects what that from yesterday, in that the food sold at below-market prices by the junta as “humanitarian assistance” was donated by relief organizations and was meant to be distributed for free; the junta is profiteering off of international donations. (Khit Thit Media) The UN and some other international organizations still insist on passing their donations through the junta rather than through autonomous ethnic governments and PDFs via cross-border channels.
In a speech at the UN yesterday, American president Biden spoke of human rights abuses in China, Afghanistan, Burma, and Iran, saying the Burmese dictator is committing horrible oppression against human rights activists and ethnic minorities, and that the USA stands with the Burmese people. He said the Burma army’s killing and oppression have reached a terrible point, but the world seems to have forgotten, leading the Burmese people to conclude that nobody cares. (Khit Thit Media)

The junta dressed up a bunch of its supporters in fake NLD party shirts and staged a sham protest against the National Unity Government and PDFs in Mandalay yesterday. The regime has been trying without success to create divisions within the overwhelmingly popular NLD party, claiming falsely that some members and leaders have agreed to collaborate with the illegal military regime. (Than Lwin Times)
A top junta business crony and arms supplier, millionaire Tun Min Latt, was arrested by Thai police yesterday in Bangkok on money laundering and drug trafficking charges. Three other people were arrested with him and $5 million in assets were seized.
