Junta continues killing children; PDFs wear down junta battalions; Karenni forces blow up a junta weapons arsenal.

In Kachin State, the Myo Hla PDF in Shwegu township attacked 100 junta troops as they were crossing the Irrawaddy River in 4 boats yesterday. The PDF sank 3 of the boats, drowning 27 troops; 5 wounded were taken to the hospital. The troops fired mortars into the nearby civilian community of Mosit, killing a 2nd grade child and injuring several people and destroying some houses. (Than Lwin Khet News)
In Karenni area, the latest battle of Mobye entered its 5th day this morning with fierce fighting between junta troops who invaded the town, and Karenni defense forces. Fighting yesterday lasted from 2 pm to 6 pm, and Karenni snipers killed 3 troops. Karenni forces are also firing mortars, and two 120mm mortar shells scored direct hits on the junta position on a hill. Junta casualties aren’t known. So far, the latest junta mortar barrages haven’t caused any more Karenni casualties. (Than Lwin Khet News)
In Demawso township of Karenni State, Karenni forces succeeded in setting a junta weapons arsenal on fire with mortar fire yesterday; continued shelling hindered junta troops from putting out the fire. Explosions were heard coming from the stored weapons, and the Karenni estimate that most or all of the weapons and ammunition in the depot were destroyed. (People's Spring)
In Kawthoolei (Karen nation), the junta has pulled 200 troops out of Mutraw District (Hpapun township on Burmese maps) and sent them to next-door Kler Lwi Htoo District (Kyaukgyi township on Burmese maps), where daily battles are taking place and the junta is bombing with Russian-supplied jets and helicopters. Over 10,000 people have been made homeless by the violence.
In Kawthoolei Doo Tha Htoo District (Kyaikto township on Burmese maps), Karen army Brigade 1 ambushed a junta convoy entering the district from Waw township in Bago Region yesterday, blowing up and damaging a truck and killing 2 troops. (Than Lwin Times) In Mutraw District on Sept. 21, Karen army Brigade 5 snipers shot a junta soldier from Mae Wei camp who was retrieving a supply load dropped by helicopter; Brigade 5 has cut off the land routes to Mae Wei. The helicopters then bombed the local area before leaving. The next day, Brigade 5 ambushed some junta troops at a bridge near occupied Papun town, killing 2 and wounding 3. (People's Spring)
In Arakan State, the Arakan Army continues to fight the junta; a new battle broke out in Maungdaw township yesterday, but no results are reported yet. (People's Spring)
In Mon State, junta administrators have seized 80 private houses with their assets and charged the owners with sedition, for the crime of belonging to the majority NLD political party before the coup. (DVB) The regime, desperately short of cash, is inventing ever more pretexts on which to seize the assets of wealthy individuals, businesses, and ordinary citizens. In Ye Phyu township yesterday, a PDF attacked a junta checkpoint, but 2 of the PDF fighters were killed in the battle. (Than Lwin Times)
Junta army desertions------------------
At the Jayt junta camp that was seized by the Karen army on Sept. 20 in Kawthoolei Dooplaya District (Kawkareik township on Burmese maps), the camp had been under blockade for over 20 days, unable even to get water. During that time 6 junta troops/BGF proxies defected to the Karen army. (People's Spring)
Junta scorched earth village terrorism campaign---------------
In Myaung township of Sagaing Region, 100 junta troops invaded Nabet village yesterday, firing mortars and guns, killing at least one civilian, and setting the community on fire. Residents of Nabet and neighboring villages are in flight from the attack, which was prompted by information from a dalan spy to the junta. (Myaelatt Athan)
Junta terror squads have burned down 13 villages in Tantse township in the past week, burning 10 people alive.
In Pakokku township of Magway Region, junta troops are burning Mitpya, Thasekone, and Tantse villages. Some villagers have been kidnapped and killed, but figures aren’t available yet. (Khit Thit Media)
People’s Defense Forces (PDFs)-----------------
In Sagaing Region, local PDFs attacked junta troops for the past 2 days in Kathah township. Yesterday they bombed a convoy of 70 troops, wounding an unknown number, who were evacuated to a hospital in 2 vehicles. The day before, the PDFs used roadside bombs on a convoy of 50 troops, and followed that up with drone bombs; the convoy was forced to turn back. A helicopter came to the troops’ aid. In Tamu township, local PDFs ambushed a junta convoy of 6 vehicles and 80 troops yesterday, provoking a gun battle in which 12 junta troops died. The survivors buried them in the forest then moved on. (Mizzima)
In Wetlet township, a PDF detonated 6 roadside bombs on a convoy including 2 armored vehicles yesterday; 1 vehicle was damaged beyond drivability. In Minkin township, a PDF opened fire on a junta checkpoint at a river dock, killing 4 junta/Pyu Saw Htee operatives. (People's Spring)
In Htee Chaing township, a PDF blew up a junta checkpoint at the entrance to Htee Chaing town, killing 2 troops and wounding 1; normally there are 5 there. (The 74 Media)
Junta troops raided one of Myaung township’s smaller PDFs, the Zamani Guerrilla Force, yesterday, capturing 8 members and killing one. (Chindwin News Agency) Experience has been that the junta tortures and kills its prisoners of war.
In Magway Region, Chin defense forces attacked 100 junta troops in Apaw village of Setuttayah township yesterday, killing 5 of them. The troops were confining the people of Apaw and Mindin villages so they couldn’t leave, and they kidnapped 45 hostages, whose whereabouts are now unknown. (Khit Thit Media)
In Irrawaddy Region, junta traffic police are imprisoning motorists they accuse of minor traffic violations and demanding large ransoms for their release.
Urban warfare------------------
In Yangon, two urban PDFs bombed one of the junta’s new 2-story bunkers at a major intersection in Mayangon township today. A junta administrator and 2 dalans were assassinated yesterday in Mayangone. A PDF in Thongwa township fired 40mm grenades into a police station there.
In Monywa city, capital of Sagaing Region, an urban PDF bombed a police post guarding a junta-owned brewery 2 days ago Sept. 21, killing 2 police and a soldier.
